  • College Station, TX: publishes sprinkler permit and inspection fees [4].
  • These are city fees, separate from what your inspection contractor charges.

What drives your price

  • Inspection frequency: NFPA 25 has quarterly, annual, 3-year and 5-year tasks, so the yearly cost depends on which tasks fall due that year [5].
  • System type: dry-pipe systems add a quarterly priming/low-air check, an annual trip test and a 3-year full-flow trip test. Deluge and pre-action systems add trip tests too [5].
  • Number of risers: in the Tulsa bid, each extra riser added $100 to the annual price [1].
  • Building size and floors: both the Tulsa bid and the Tampa fees scale with systems and floors [1][3].
  • Fire pumps and standpipes are priced separately (Tulsa bid) [1].
  • Backflow testing: an annual test under NFPA 25 (2017 edition, section 13.7.2) [5].
  • Five-year internal assessment: the largest occasional cost, per the TFP guide [2].
  • Local rules: NYC requires a monthly inspection report by a Certificate of Fitness holder, which adds recurring labor [6].
